According to the press centre of the People's Defence Forces (HPG), two soldiers of the Turkish invading forces were shot dead in the Zap region. The soldiers were targeted by guerrilla snipers on Friday morning and last night in the resistance area of Çemço. In Xakurke, the guerrillas hit a Turkish army unit at Girê Şehîd Şahan with heavy weapons.
Meanwhile, on Friday, the Turkish army again used prohibited combat agents against guerrilla positions in the guerrilla-held Medya Defence Zones in Southern Kurdistan (Northern Iraq). The Şehîd Pîrdoğan tunnel at Girê Amêdî was attacked several times with a colourless and strong-smelling gas. A prohibited bomb was used against the Şehîd Xursi tunnel in Saca, and four attacks with prohibited bombs were carried out against the Şehîd Felat tunnel in Sîda. In the Şehîd Bahoz tunnel in Çemço, chemical weapons were used repeatedly at intervals for six hours, and smoke from lit plastic material and car tyres was directed into the position with a wind machine.
The areas of Girê Zengil, Deriyê Hirçê and Gundê Berçiya in Gare, Golka in Metîna and the Zap shore were bombed eight times by fighter jets on 27 and 28 October. Girê FM was attacked twice by attack helicopters on Thursday. Dozens of other attacks with howitzers and heavy weapons were directed against the Çemço and Girê Cûdî areas. In Karker, the Turkish army continues to try to demolish guerrilla positions with construction machinery.
