Vedat Encü (16) who was killed in the bombardment from a military outpost while doing border trade in Roboski village of Şırnak's Uludere district yesterday, has been laid to rest. Encü was denied burial at the cemetery of Roboski martyrs.

Following religious duties at the village mosque at noon, people accompanied Encü's coffin to the Cemetery of Martyrs where 34 people had been murdered brutally in the Roboski massacre of 2011. Soldiers, however, denied him burial at the martyrs' cemetery as they threatened the villagers and Encü family.

Upon the continued obstruction by military forces, the crowd laid the slain youth in the other cemetery in the village. During the funeral ceremony, soldiers and armored vehicles were also deployed outside the Ortasu outpost located next to the graveyard. The mass condemned the AKP government and Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan.

The funeral was attended by hundreds in addition to the Encü family, local residents and friends of Vedat Encü who was studying at high school. The funeral witnessed emotional moments as Vedat's sister came near her brother's grave with daisies in her hand and lamented for him.

Women joining the funeral damned Turkish President Erdoğan, saying; "Erdoğan killed 34 young people of ours but he did not find this enough. He did not become satisfied with the blood of the Kurds who, however, cannot be ended by killing.”
