Vigil at Nusaybin-Qamishlo border: The hearts of all Kurds beat for Rojava

A vigil is taking place on the Nusaybin-Qamishlo border gate. DEM Party MP Ali Bozan said: “Despite the borders, Kurds living in the four parts are one. The hearts of all Kurds beat for Rojava today.”

The vigil that was started at the Qamishlo border in the Nusaybin (Nisêbîn) district of Mardin (Mêrdîn) to protest the attacks by the Turkish state and its affiliated gangs on Northern and Eastern Syria continues.

The vigil started in the empty area at the Mitanni Cultural Center near the Qamishlo border before being moved to the Nisêbîn-Qamishlo border gate on Friday evening.

Hundreds of people gathered at the vigil area and marched to the Nisêbîn-Qamishlo Border Gate accompanied by slogans.

DEM Party Mersin MP Ali Bozan said that they have been on guard duty on the border all day long and said that the ban decision taken by the Mardin governor is meaningless for them. Noting that a ban decision was made on actions and events in the city before they started the watch against the attacks of Turkey-backed groups, Bozan said: "Despite the Mardin governor’s ban decision, we walked the streets of Mardin today. Despite the Mardin governor’s ban, we made our statement. Again, despite the Mardin governor’s ban, we have been at the vigil right next to Qamishlo on the border. The Mardin governor cannot make any decisions regarding the people living in Mardin."

Bozan added: "Everyone knows that those borders are artificial borders. Years ago, those artificial borders were drawn between the Kurdish people. But despite those borders, Kurds living in the four parts are one. The hearts of all Kurds beat for Rojava today. Just as we did not remain silent when the gangs backed by Turkey attacked Kobane, when Kobane was surrounded by ISIS, and when Kobane was being bombed by Turkey, we will not remain silent today either."
