Vigil at Qamishlo border continues: People will not allow occupation

The vigil started on the Qamishlo border against the attacks on North and East Syria is on its 13th day. Activists saluted the resistance of Rojava and vowed struggle against occupation.

The vigil organised at the Qamishlo border in the Nusaybin (Nisêbîn) district of Mardin (Mêrdîn) in protest at the attacks by the Turkish state and the Syrian National Army (SNA) gangs on North-East Syria continues on its 13th day.

Many people from Batman participated in the vigil today, with activists giving messages and chanting slogans saluting the resistance of Rojava.

DEM Party member Beşir Bilir, Speaker of the usurped Batman Municipality Council, saluted the resistance in Northern and Eastern Syria and said, “The Kurdish people are struggling for peace and freedom. However, those who do not listen to their demands for peace and freedom continue their attacks. Today, the occupying states do not allow the people of Rojava to live together. The people of Rojava are putting up a great struggle against this and will continue to do so. Like all the peoples in the world, Kurds want to live in their own land. There is no other way but to struggle. Of course, this struggle will continue. We will resist. Whatever happens, the end will be magnificent.”

DEM Party MP Beritan Güneş Altın described Turkey's approach as “occupation” and said, “The resisting, struggling people will not allow you to occupy that region. They forget one thing; there is a will there. There are peoples who want to govern themselves. No one can interfere with the will of those peoples to govern themselves.”

Beritan Güneş Altın wished Christians a happy Christmas, expressing her hope that it would lead to peace.
