Villagers in Qandil: We won’t let the invaders pass

Residents of the Sinemokan village, one of the villages of Qandil targeted by the Turkish state’s invasion attacks, say they won’t leave their village and they won’t allow the invasion.

As the Turkish state intensifies the bombings against Qandil, villages in the shelled areas try to continue with their regular lives.

Sinemokan residents speak of loyalty to the land in the face of bombings and threats of invasion.

One villager said, looking at the sky: “Even now, Turkish fighter jets patrol the area.”

The villager added: “It’s not certain where they will bomb. For us, there is no difference between the people and the guerrilla. The people and the guerrilla are one. The occupant forces martyred hundreds of civilians under the guise of attacking the guerrilla. We won’t leave our lands, and we will fight against them. The enemy invaders are trying to invade our lands again. But we won’t let them.”

Children of the village play underneath the sounds of bombings. Yara, Mihemed, Nujin and Helin, aged between 4 and 15, say they will always stay in their village, like the grown-ups.
