Violent clashes are taking place in the Ertuş region of Hakkari’s Çukurca district, where the Turkish army had launched an operation. Many soldiers were killed during the actions guerillas carried out against the soldiers on the operation.
Violent clashes broke out in the Ertuş region of Hakkari’s Çukurca district when guerillas responded to the Turkish army’s comprehensive operation with many soldiers and technical equipments. HPG and YJA Star guerillas had carried out actions against the soldiers on the operation last night, and the Turkish army had bombarded Ertuş Castle, Martyr Cahit and Martyr Neval hills between 20:00 and 00:00 yesterday.
Soldiers were later deployed in the region with Sikorsky helicopters protected by Kobra helicopters. Guerillas carried out an action against the soldiers recently deployed in the region around 04:00, and many soldiers were killed.
Violent clashes broke out after the action and continue today, and warplanes are reported to bombard the region continuously.
