"We are not intimidated by Turkey’s attacks"

Farmer Hadi was working in his field in Penchewin when a Turkish Air Force bomb hit nearby. He is angry that the governments of South Kurdistan and Iraq do not speak out against Turkey’s attacks.

The people of Penchewin in the Sulaymaniyah governorate in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq) are furious. The district was bombed by twenty fighter jets of the Turkish air force on Tuesday morning and not even the Kurdish regional government or the Iraqi central government raised any objections. Hadi, a farmer, who was working in his field at the time of the airstrike and points to the bomb crater, saying, "The goal of the Turkish state is to wipe out all Kurds," on the bombing of civilian settlement areas.

Hadi expresses his dissatisfaction with the regional and central governments, which have remained silent in the face of the attacks. "We do not accept this in any way. We will stand with one voice and one stand against the attacks. The attacks are carried out to intimidate the Kurdish people. However, we will not give up our country."

Penchewin (Panjawin) is located 200 kilometers from the Turkish border in the Kurdish autonomous region on Iraqi territory. The PJAK of Eastern Kurdistan is particularly present in the mountainous region. According to the Turkish Defense Ministry, 28 targets have been attacked. The Defense Units of Eastern Kurdistan (YRK) have not suffered any casualties in the air strikes in the Iraq-Iran border area. Miraculously, the rural population has not suffered any casualties either.
