Guerrillas of the HPG (People’s Defense Forces) spoke to ANF on the anniversary of the February 15 International Conspiracy against Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan that resulted in his abduction from Kenya to Turkey in 1999.

Bahoz Licê condemned the international conspiracy and stated that the conspiratorial forces made attempts to end the Kurdish Freedom Movement for years, but all their attempts have remained inconclusive.

The HPG fighter said that these forces later introduced the international conspiracy. “They did this because they were afraid of Öcalan's ideas. Öcalan opposed slavery, which has existed since the beginning of civilization and stood as a pervasive problem of the time. He saw the need for the PKK and established the party.

The establishment of the PKK is a historic response to save humanity from its current situation. The PKK advocates a new and free life for humanity. The PKK has become a hope for humanity today. That's why people also support it. As guerrillas, we take Öcalan’s critical remarks seriously. On this basis, we will develop the guerrilla warfare of the Democratic Modernity. The attacks carried out by the occupying Turkish state on Medya Defense Zones reveal their failure. The Turkish army cannot fight against the guerrillas. They are now suffering a historic defeat. We reiterate our promise to achieve victory and will achieve Öcalan’s physical freedom at any cost. We will fulfil our responsibilities as the Kurdish people and guerrillas,” the fighter said.

'IDEAS OF ÖCALANS ARE FAMILIAR TO EVERY HOME IN KURDISTAN'

Another guerrilla fighter, Çekdar Goyî, emphasized that the conspiratorial forces have not succeeded in breaking the will of Öcalan despite the aggravated isolation for 23 years. “23 years have passed since the international conspiracy, but the conspiratorial forces did not achieve their goal and could not get rid of Öcalan's free ideas. They have implemented an aggravated isolation because they do not want his ideas to meet with the people. However, his ideas have gone beyond the walls of Imrali prison and are familiar to every house in Kurdistan today. Öcalan’s ideas have become universal and no one will be able to prevent them. Now is the time for his physical freedom. We will act with this determination in 2022.”

'TURKISH ARMY CANNOT BREAK OUR WILL'

Kemal Dêrazor, an Arabic guerrilla fighter from Deir ez-Zor province of Syria, pointed out that Öcalan is fighting not only for one people, but for all oppressed peoples. The HPG fighter stressed that the conspiratorial forces introduced such a plot because they did not want Öcalan's free ideas to spread. “February 15 is a dark day for us. We condemn those involved in this plot. We will never accept the imprisonment of Öcalan.  As the guerrillas of Öcalan, we will always resist and fight to the end against the occupying forces. No one can break our will. We will fight until we achieve the physical freedom of Öcalan. Our comrades are currently putting up outstanding resistance against Turkish forces in Avaşîn, Metina and Zap. The Turkish army cannot break our will through its advanced warfare, victory will be ours.”
