“What happened in Kirkuk is the same as the attacks on Xakurke"

Political Observer Rauf said Turkey's intervention against Kirkuk and the attacks against Xakurke are not independent from each other and added: “They continue on with chaos and war so Kurds don’t achieve their rights and the region doesn’t have peace.”

Political Observer Burhan Shex Rauf spoke to RojNews about the Turkish state interventions against Kirkuk and attacks against Bashur in Xakurke and other areas.

Burhan Shex Rauf stressed that the unrest in Kirkuk and the Turkish state attacks against Xakurke are not independent from each other: “The Turkish state has the same goal in Kirkuk and Xakurke: Invasions and unrest. They are working so the Kurds don’t achieve their rights and the region doesn’t have peace. Kurds play an important role in establishing peace in the region, but Turkey is disrupting that.”

Burhan Shex Rauf pointed to the Turkish state’s intervention against Kirkuk and said: “Turkey is putting pressure on Kirkuk to prevent the solution of issues and to avoid the election of a Kurdish governor. They pressure Kurdish parties so the chaos in Kirkuk continues. This way they want to force the Kurds to migrate.

Burhan Shex Rauf said the authorities in the Kurdistan region should protest the Turkish state’s violations: “The Iraqi and Kurdistan Regional parliaments and the MPs should speak up against Turkish state violations and put forth their protest.”
