Derik governor and appointed trustee Muhammed Fatih Safitürk and 2 police officers had gotten injured yesterday when home made explosives that had been placed in Safitürk’s office blasted yesterday.

Unlike initial accounts suggesting that rocket launchers caused the explosion, Safitürk and two police officers got injured during the explosion of the home made bomb and were first taken to Derik State Hospital and later Kızıltepe State Hospital and Gaziantep Dr. Ersin Arslan Hospital.

Governor Safitürk got operated and was stabilized here, but lost his life this morning.
