The basement where 19 wounded and 6 slain people remain trapped for 6 days, is still under fire of Turkish forces deployed in Cizre's Cudi neighborhood. State forces that are not allowing ambulance access to the scene are also continuing to shell the building where dozens are suffering a growing torture every day.
DBP Assembly Member Mehmet Yavuzer who is among those with wounds, spoke on the phone Thursday evening, saying that the wounded have no water even left for the past two days. Yavuzer said Ferhat Karaduman, Sultan Irmak, Ferhat Saltık and Mustafa Gazyak had heavy injuries and were in critical condition. Remarking that the ongoing artillery fire on the building and surroundings have left the top three floors demolished completely, he noted that the armored vehicles that laid a siege around the building are loudly playing the Ottoman Mehter Anthem.
Yavuzer stressed that the Governor and Health Ministry's remarks “ambulances cannot enter the area due to clashes” were aimed to mislead the public opinion as there was no fighting in the area.
DBP Assembly Member also responded to the officials' calls for the wounded to walk up to the safe area, saying; “We get shot once we attempt to go out to find some water even. Those with injuries are already in very severe condition, and the house is encircled. How can they want us to do such a thing? The building is being shelled 50 times every day. We are tired of explaining the situation here.”
Yavuzer said there were no armed militants near them as is asserted by some circles, noting that; "They are trying to deceive the Kurdish people and the public opinion. Everyone should know that they are telling the same lies for 5 days. The people here have no water left for the last 2 days. They will die soon if it continues like this. Six people have died and there are 19 wounded here, of whom 5 are in critical condition. The building is shelled every day and top three floors are already demolished."
DBP Assembly Member said such an incident couldn't possibly occur somewhere else on the world, adding the followings; "They are either expecting all of us to die here under these conditions, or planning to send some inside to execute us. The people here are resisting with their breath and morale. They got no water or liquid for two days now. They will all die anyway if it continues like this two more days. Nobody will ever be able to get out from under this."
Yavuzer called upon all Kurdish people to come to Cizre and retrieve their children from the basement themselves.
