The Shengal Democratic Autonomous Council (MXDŞ) issued a statement about the Kocho massacre. "We will not leave the blood of the Êzidîxan martyrs on the ground. We will bring those who caused the massacre to account one by one."
The Shengal Democratic Autonomous Council (MXDŞ) issued a written statement regarding the Kocho Village massacre.
The statement of MXDŞ is as follows:
“As the Shengal Democratic Autonomous Council, we commemorate all Yazidi martyrs, and especially the Kocho martyrs, with respect in these difficult days. We bow with respect to all Êzidxan [Yazidi land] martyrs. Unfortunately, our 104 martyrs are being laid to rest these days. Today there are hundreds of remains that have not been excavated yet. As MXDŞ we ask where were those who made a statement at the funerals of the martyrs yesterday on 15 August 2014? What were they doing? There is another question to be asked here. Why haven't those who abandoned Shengal and left been arrested and tried so far?”
The statement added: “Unfortunately, those who caused these massacres are still on duty, instead of being judged. Today they are trying to put aside Shengal and the massacres of the Yazidis. They act as if nothing happened in Shengal. They see massacres as normal or change the facts. Many foreign hands have plans over Shengal right now. They want to do what ISIS could not achieve and want to invade Êzidxan lands. The enemies of our religion, belief and culture want to pass the Yazidi people through genocide once again. But we have been resisting for freedom and the autonomy of Êzidîxan since the first massacre. We will not leave the blood of Êzidîxan martyrs on the ground. We will bring those who caused the massacre to account one by one. Anyone who attacks the Yazidis will find us in front of them."
