The statement continues: “The Turkish invasion operation, which started in the morning hours of 10 February and ended with the withdrawal of the Turkish army on 13 February, caused the Turkish army to suffer a severe defeat as a result of the valiant resistance of our martyred comrades.

Our comrades fell as martyrs after an epic resistance at the prison camp

Our comrade Şoreş Beytüşşebap, who was in charge of the prison camp, was one of the commanders who first detected the invasion operation on 10 February.

As soon as he realized that, he established the place where the invading enemy was landing and hit it. After the enemies were dealt the first blow, they retreated and bombed the prison camp with warplanes.

Our comrades in the prison camp showed great will and courage to protect the prison camp and the prisoners from the heavy bombardment, striking the invading enemy and fighting resolutely for days. The invading Turkish state, desperate in the face of our comrades’ unshakable will and skills, once again showed its vile face by cowardly and brutally bombing the prison camp for three days, using chemical gases in an attempt to get results.

Our comrades Cudi Serhat, Bawer Elke, Erdal Rojhılat, Argeş Roni and Avareş Van, under the command of comrade Şoreş Beytüşşebap, taught a great lesson to the invading enemy by resisting to their last breath, reached martyrdom after an epic resistance in the prison camp.”

The statement added that "our comrade Seydo Refik was positioned at a different resistance point and narrowed the Garê area to the enemy thus preventing the invaders from spreading towards his front. Our comrade Seydo fell a martyr in the air attack that took place during the Garê war.

Turkish army stopped in Siyanê

The Turkish colonial regime tried to occupy the Garê region with its wide operation. But due to the early intervention of our forces, troops could only be deployed in the Siyanê area and its surroundings. The Turkish army was stopped there. The Turkish army, which kept dozens of reconnaissance and fighter jets in the air all day long to protect the occupiers trapped in the Siyanê area, repeatedly bombed the area. However, it could not avoid the heavy blows of the guerrillas. Our professional mobile guerrilla teams skillfully levered all the technology of the Turkish state with their tactics and inflicted blow after blow to the enemy trapped in Siyanê.

The number of invaders established to have been killed during the four-day war, is 37. In the Garê resistance, where dozens of invaders were injured and 2 Skorsky helicopters were hit, 15 of our comrades also fell as martyrs, 6 of them in the Siyanê prison camp, 5 during clashes, 1 in the air strike, 3 while carrying out their duties.

Our fallen comrades, who responded with self-sacrificing militant will, great determination, indomitable courage and war skills against the most sophisticated war technologies carried out a historical and successful resistance.

We pay tribute to all of our martyrs, beginning with commander Şoreş Beytüşşebap and express our condolences to the families of comrades Cudi Serhat, Bawer Elkê, Erdal Rojhılat, Argeş Roni, Avareş Van, Rojhat Musyan, Xeyrî Çewlik, Delil Kobani, Xabur Derik, Rêber Kobani, Seydo Refik, Seyfi Polat, Arhat Amed and Gelhat Tolhıldan.
