Yagiz’s health continues to deteriorate on day 109 of fast

The HDP member is on the 109th day of his fast against isolation.

Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) member Nasir Yagiz, who has been on an indefinite non-alternating hunger strike in Hewler (Erbil) for 109 days protesting the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan, continues to experience health issues.

Yagiz says he experiences headaches, arrhythmia, fatigue and other health issues and that the headaches are making it very difficult for him.

Yagiz has lost a significant amount of weight and cannot stand up on his own. He spends most of his time in bed, only to be propped up by friends occasionally for short strolls.

Yagiz has continued his resistance with great resolve for 109 days. He continues with the same determination as day 1. Yagiz’s body gets smaller every day, but Yagiz says he will continue his protest until the isolation is gone, no matter what.
