Yazidis remembered victims of the massacres of Kocho, Til Ezêr and Siba Shêx Xidir and commended 15 August guerrilla actions by the PKK.
The Yazidi Community Coordination has commemorated the hundreds of people killed in Kocho, Til Ezêr and Siba Shêx Xidir in 2007 and 2014.
Drawing attention to the importance of the unity and resistance of the peoples, the Coordination also commended the 15 August anniversary.
In a written statement about the massacres of Til Ezêr, Kocho and Siba Şêx Xidir, the Coordination emphasized that the pain is still alive.
"We have not forgotten the pain of these massacres, we will not forget it, we cannot forget it. Mercenary groups have not yet given up these inhuman practices. The same groups, the same mindset was what we witnessed in 2014, where the people of Kocho were massacred. We remember those who lost their lives with respect and gratitude, and we bow before their memories with respect".
The statement continued: “As a community, we have been subjected to 74 massacres. However, we are still standing and say: we will never bow to you. Resistance and fight will prevail. We are a society that takes its power from historical values. We know that these attacks are directed towards societies with democratic, egalitarian and peaceful cultures. For this reason, we will continue to progress on the basis of a democratic and peaceful mentality. We will take our inspiration from democratic unity, universal struggle and common resistance”.
FREE UNITY OF PEOPLES
On the occasion of the anniversary of the massacres of Til Ezêr and Kocho, said the statement, “We, Yazidi people, call for unity and say: stay alert, be united and do not submit to anyone. Because there is nothing other than the freedom of oppressed societies and the free unity of all peoples”.
REMEMBERING 15 AUGUST 1984
The Yazidi Community Coordination commended the 15 August 1984 guerrilla actions with these words: "On 15 August 1984, Commander Agit (Mahsum Korkmaz) has fired the first bullet to the brain and heart of the barbaric attacks.
We celebrate the 15 August, as it was an important step in the seeds of freedom for all our people. We need to struggle against these inhuman practices with the same spirit of 15 August”.
