YBŞ (Shengal Resistance Units) Command has announced YBŞ Military Assembly Member Şengal Şengali and 2 HPG guerrillas have lost their lives on March 21. YBŞ stressed that “the flag of struggle won’t fall to the ground.”

The General Command of YBŞ announced that the military campaign started in the west of Shengal as part of 'Operation Vengeance for Martyrs of Shilo' is still in action on its 14th day.

The statement reported that during this operation a large area was taken under YBŞ forces’ control, dozens of gang members have been killed in clashes and many of the bodies ended up in YBŞ forces’ hands. YBŞ noted that they will share details about the operation with the public once it is over.

The statement by YBŞ said; “Mediban village which is of strategic importance to the operation we have launched has been under siege for a week by our forces. Monday night (21.03.2016) in Mediban village, comrades Erdal, Salih and Şengal were martyred in an explosion upon entry to a previously booby trapped house.

Şengali was one of the first cadres of YPŞ and a member of the YBŞ Military Assembly. The loss of comrade Şengali, who actively joined the resistance along with his 4 siblings is a great loss for our organisation and our people.

Şengali, who touched the hearts of all of his comrades in the struggle, especially our Êzidî young, with his courage, integrity and humility was also a leading commander in this move.

We express our deep sorrow on the martyrdom of comrade Şengali who joined the struggle with the spirit of Martyrs Berxwedan and Berivan, and give our condolences to his family and all of Êzidî people.

The flag of struggle comrade Şengali was carrying and his gun won’t fall to the ground. This brave commander, brave son of Ezdixan will live in our struggle forever."

YBŞ also saluted 2 HPG guerrillas martyred, saying; "Comrades Erdal and Salih were in the frontlines in the struggle in the Shengal mountains against ISIS for our Êzidî people’s freedom, with great devotion and determination.

We salute all our freedom martyrs in friend Şengali, Erdal and Salih’s person and repeat our promise for victory once again.”
