Yet another curfew has been announced in Nusaybin district of Mardin late Sunday evening. The curfew, the fourth one put into effect recently, has been imposed by Nusaybin district governor for the neighborhoods of Abdülkadirpaşa, Fırat, Dicle and Yenişehir.
While police and special operation teams blockaded the four neighborhoods yet before the beginning of the curfew late Sunday evening, armored vehicles were deployed on all the streets leading to İpek Yolu (Silk Road), Newroz Square and state hospital.
On the other hand reports are coming through that more armored vehicles are being dispatched to Nusaybin from Mardin's Kızıltepe district and Şırnak's Cizre district.
The previous curfew in the district, which was lifted only three days ago, lasted 14 days that witnessed heavy attacks by state forces and resistance by the people. 9 civilians were killed in these two weeks of curfew.
Attacks are being conducted by police and special operation teams deployed on Çağçağ Street which links the four neighborhoods to each other.
As people have resisted and held vigil in the areas under attack throughout the night, attacks by police forces have intensified as of early Monday morning.
