YJA Star guerrilla Özgür Çiya said: “No matter what the Turkish state does, they cannot destroy or defeat the guerrilla. Our anger is getting stronger."

Özgür Çiya was among the guerrillas who welcomed PKK's 45th anniversary on the battlefield. She told ANF about her feelings and thoughts. Noting that, as guerrillas of YJA Star (Free Women's Troops) and HPG (People's Defense Forces), they faced a very heavy war in 2023, guerrilla Çiya said: "The Turkish state cannot defeat us with all its existing techniques and immoral war. The defeat of the Turkish state is near. In the areas of Zap, Avaşîn and Metina, our comrades faced the Turkish state with a resistance that has become epic today. This resistance, this will, spirit and determination will be legendary. As long as the spirit of comrades Haki, Kemal, Mazlum and Hayri exists on 27 November, we will never disappear and we will not bow to anyone. The enemy must understand this well."

Leader Öcalan's philosophy has been universalized

Guerrilla Çiya continued: "There is a struggle carried out against the isolation of our leadership not only in Kurdistan or the Middle East, but all over the world. There are strong protests against this inhuman isolation. We will do whatever we can to break the isolation. Leader Öcalan's ideas and philosophy were not limited to Kurdistan but spread all over the world. Turkish fascism should know this well. Even if it attacks the guerrilla and Kurdish people, it cannot attack and destroy humanity. This idea and philosophy has become universal. With this idea and philosophy, Kurdistan will be liberated, and so will our people and our Leader. This are our aims and targets. We welcome 27 November with great determination and action. The celebrations are with this spirit."

Getting free with the spirit of 27 November

Guerrilla Çiya said: "Now women are liberated thanks to Leader Öcalan's idea and the spirit of 27 November. The Turkish state also sees and should see that we are not defeated. No matter what they do, even if they want to unite with all states and attack, they cannot destroy or defeat the guerrillas. The guerrillas fight with the ideas and philosophy of Leader Öcalan. We live and fight with the spirit of our 27 November, 15 August and self-sacrificing martyrs. This spirit will always rise and increase. As time goes by, our anger grows stronger. We claim and are determined to make 2024 the year of Leader Öcalan's freedom and to destroy the Turkish state."
