YPG: 44 gang members killed

YPG Media Center announced that jihadist gangs have attacked civilians on the border regions of Roajva-North Syria Federation. 44 gangs were killed during the operations in response to these attacks.

YPG Media Center announced that SNC affiliated gang groups Sultan Murad Brigade, Ahrar Al-Sham, 16th Battalion, Al-Fetih Brigade, Sultan Mihemed Al Fetih Brigade, Al Mucahidin Army, Suwar Al-Sham, Ahrar Suruye, Jabhat Al Shamiye, Siqor Al Jabal, 101th Battalion, Foc Alewal, Jabhat Al-Turkmen, Ebû Emera Battalion, Al Islam Army, Festeqim Kema Emert Group, 13th Brigade, Al Shemaliye Battalion and Nûreddîn Zenkî Brigade continue their joint attacks on Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood. 2 military vehicles belonging to the gangs were damaged and 3 gang members were killed during the attacks.

The gangs attacked Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood from the villages of Seken Şikeyf and Pîno on July 16, and clashes broke out near the 20th Avenue. 2 military vehicles belonging to the gangs were damaged and 3 gang members were killed during the attacks. Gang groups have also attacked the village of Eyn Deqnê from their positions in Azaz at 22:00 on July 16.

GANGS CARRY OUT ATTACKS TARGETING CIVILIANS

YPG stated that ISIS gangs, who have received heavy blows during the Manbij initiative, have attacked civilians on the border regions of Roajva-North Syria Federation. The gangs attacked Ayn Îsa and the region to the southeast of Tishreen dam on the morning of July 16, and infiltrated 6 villages along the borderline. 10 civilians were killed in Sêgolê village and 3 civilians were killed in Birberqalê village during these attacks.

44 GANG MEMBERS KILLED DURING THE OPERATION IN RESPONSE TO THE GANGS’ ATTACK

YPG forces responded to the gangs with an operation, and 2 armored vehicles and 1 tank belonging to the gangs were destroyed. 44 gang members were killed and 12 gang members detonated themselves during the clashes. All of the 6 villages have been liberated, and 6 YPG fighters fell as martyrs during the clashes.

VIOLENT CLASHES IN MAHLA VILLAGE

YPG stated that ISIS gangs attacked the Mahla village of Sheddade on July 16, and were repelled after clashes that lasted until 23:00 on the same day. The number of gangs killed during the clashes has not been clarified due to the poor weather conditions in the region, and the search and sweep efforts of YPG forces continue.

TURKISH ARMY CONTINUES TO ATTACK ROJAVA

Lastly, YPG Media Center noted that the Turkish army continues to attack Rojava, and soldiers carried out an attack with heavy weaponry against the YPG positions near the village of Silipkiran to the east of Kobanê on July 16.
