YPG Press Office released a statement reporting intensified attacks by the Turkish army and affiliated gangs on the lands of Rojava, Western Kurdistan.
Accordingly, Turkish army attacked Yabsê and Girê Silulê villages to the east of the Kobanê Canton with heavy weaponry in the evening of March 5.
In the same evening, gangs operating under the command of the Turkish army launched an attack on Ayn Deqnê and Belûnê villages in Efrîn Canton with heavy weapons, which YPG fighters responded effectively.
In the afternoon of March 6, Turkish-backed gang groups attacked Vîlat Qadî village of Efrin with mortars, in response to which YPG units hit the positions of the gangs with heavy weapons.
In the evening of March 6, Turkish military opened fire on Ziyaret village and Martyr Hogir Hill to the west of Kobanê, which was retaliated by YPG fighters.
In the same evening, gangs backed by the Turkish army shelled Efrîn's Maranez and Belûne villages with howitzer and mortar fire. In response to the attack, YPG units launched artillery fire targeting the positions of the gangs.
On March 7, at noon, Turkish army shelled Qorelî village to the east of Kobanê with heavy weapons.
At around 23:30 the same day, Turkish forces dispatched heavy weaponry to the Til Shaîr Hill to the west of Kobanê, and simultaneously attempted an invasion against Rojava soil over Zormixar and Ziyaret villages.
Brief clashes erupted as YPG fighters intervened and hindered this attempt, which forced Turkish soldiers to retreat from the area. A war plane of the Turkish army flew over the Kobanê border line during and after the clash.
Again the same day, 40 soldiers of the Turkish army crossed into Rojava soil through the Firfirk village in Efrîn's Raco district. During the crossing, Turkish forces targeted the YPG positions in Karababa village of Shiyê district amid an intensified drone activity of the Turkish military.
YPG units acted in response to the Turkish activities, which resulted in a brief clash during which 2 Turkish soldiers were wounded and a drone was downed.
