YPS: 40 special operations forces trapped under rubble

YPS Şırnak Command issued a statement on its actions yesterday and said that 40 state forces were trapped under the rubble of 3 buildings that YPS forces demolished.

YPS Şırnak Command issued a statement on its actions yesterday and said that tens of special operations forces were killed during the clashes that took place between 11:00 and 21:00 in Şırnak. YPS noted that its forces demolished 3 buildings with explosives and 40 special operations forces were trapped under the rubbles of these buildings.

YPS stated that its members hit the state forces that came to the rescue of these trapped soldiers from 4 different directions, and more than 20 state forces were killed here. Clashes continue as the bodies of 40 state forces remain under rubbles.

YPS Şırnak Command noted that soldiers tried to retrieve the 40 bodies through their infiltration attempt at Cumhuriyet neighborhood, but were met with the resistance of YPS fighters and 11 soldiers were killed. Also, 2 armored earth diggers, 1 Kobra-type vehicle and 1 Kirpi-type vehicle were destroyed.

Lastly, YPS Şırnak command announced that its forces would not allow the retrieval of the 40 soldiers’ bodies, and YPS General Coordination would soon release more detailed information on the clashes.
