YPS General Coordination issued a written statement on its recent actions in Van and Gever.

VAN

YPS stated that its forces carried out an action against the soldiers in front of the Vaski insitution next to the military building in Van around 22:00 on August 23, and 3 soldiers were wounded during the action.

YPS members also destroyed Turkcell and Vodafone base stations in Çelebibağ neighborhood at 23:00 on the same night.

YPS-JIN units destroyed 2 AKP vehicles in the Cevdet Paşa neighborhood of Van’s İpekyolu district at 16:30 on August 24.

2 police officers were killed and 3 others including the Chief of Police were injured during a YPS action against the police headquarters on August 25.

YPS-JIN units carried out an action against the barracks in Van around 22:30 on August 26 with heavy weaponry, and the numbers of dead and injured soldiers have not yet been determined.

GEVER

Lastly, YPS and YPS-JIN units carried out an action against special operations police officers from three directions in Gever on August 23, and at least 7 officers were killed during the action. YPS added that the details of this action would soon be shared with the public.
