The Eastern Kurdistan Units (YRK) Command has issued a written statement concerning the invasion and genocide attacks of the Turkish state. The statement published on Wednesday includes the following:

“The invading Turkish state has recently increased its attacks against the Freedom Movement. Although it cites the Apoist movement as a pretext to attack, it actually attacks the Kurdish people in all four parts of Kurdistan. It has attacked Shengal and Rojava in the presence of the world. It continues its invasion in Southern Kurdistan as well.

Reconnaissance aircraft and fighter jets kept flying over the Asos area several times during the month of August. Reconnaissance aircraft also flew over the Pêncewîn area on 10 August without cease. On August 24, 2021, reconnaissance planes flew over the Pêncewîn area from 03:00 until the morning and many areas of the Pêncewîn region including villages and agricultural areas were bombed from 06.30 to 07.30.

‘WE SUFFERED NO LOSSES, FAKE NEWS ARE DISSEMINATED’

We did not have casualties during this bombardment. The reports disseminated by the fascist Turkish state are not true. Our forces did not suffer any losses in these attacks. However, our people in Pêncewîn suffered significant financial loss. They are already openly attacking the Kurds. The enemy, defeated by the people, wants to take revenge on our patriotic people. For this reason, they targeted our people's gardens, causing financial damage. Although the fascist Turkish state claims to have bombed the areas where our forces were located, it only attacked our people's gardens and cultivated areas as can be seen in the images. This proves the fascist hostility of the Turkish state against our people. Our people, particularly those in Sharbajar and Pêncewîn, are disturbed by the reconnaissance aircraft of the fascist Turkish state and they do not accept this situation. Our people also know well that the fascist Turkish state spreads fear and seeks to displace the people from their own country. Our people in Southern Kurdistan should not remain silent and take a stand against these attacks. Our people should know that the invading states want to invade Kurdistan by eliminating the achievements of the Kurdish people.

Another important issue is the agreement between the forces which occupy the Kurdistan territory. The attacks on Shengal, Pêncewîn and Sulaymaniyah took place after al-Kadhimi held talks with Iranian President İbrahim Reisi and Turkish President Erdoğan.”

‘ENTIRE KURDISH PEOPLE ARE TARGETED’

“The target of the fascist state is not only Northern Kurdistan and the PKK, but the entire Kurdish people,” the statement said.

“The latest attacks on Pêncewîn also showed us that wherever there is a Kurd in any part of the world who wants to live based on their own rights, the Turkish fascist state bears unlimited hostility against them. The attacks rely on this hostility. We believe that our people in Sulaymaniyah, and particularly our patriotic people of Pêncewîn, are aware of what the Turkish attacks mean and that these aggressions are genocidal attacks. The purpose of these attacks is to intimidate our people and eliminate the achievements of our people in Southern Kurdistan.

As the YRK forces, we state that we will never remain silent towards these attacks carried out by the invading Turkish state on the lands of Kurdistan. We will do whatever is necessary for the freedom of our people. We will continue our struggle unabated until we defeat the invaders of Kurdistan and secure the freedom of our leader, our people and our lands.”
