An explosion killed one child and wounded another on Saturday in Yuksekova, a district of Hakkari province.
According to the reports two siblings U.K. and E.K. found an unknown device in their playground in Eski Kisla neighborhood. One of the siblings lost his life and the other was seriously wounded after the device exploded.
The wounded sibling was taken to Yuksekova State Hospital and his condition is described “stable” by the doctors.
Police started an investigation about the explosion and provided no further details about the incident.
Locals say Turkish soldiers and police were active in the area and the device could be a grenade or something similar.
Turkish army declared curfew in Yuksekova for 79 days in March 2016 and the area was bombed heavily.
