The 13 members of Democratic Region's Party (DBP) and Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) that had been taken into custody by the Turkish police during house raids in Istanbul on July 28, have been referred to the Bakirkoy Courthouse.

12 of those detainees have been sentenced to jail on charges of “membership to a terrorist organisation” due to attendance in press statements, funerals and intraparty education sessions.

The arrested DBP and HDP members are: Aygül Turhan, Enver Sönmez, Ercan Doğru, Ahmet Sağınç, Mehmet Şah Güneş, Mehmet Şirin Akyol, Mevlüt Aykoç, Mustafa Elma, Rıdvan Döner, Sedat Çaycı, Eşref Yaşar, Güven Pınar.
