The People's Alternative Revolutionary Force (FARC) party denounced the killing of former guerrilla Mario Tellez Restrepo in North Santander, Colombia.
Restrepo is the 200th former FARC guerrilla killed since the peace agreements were signed in 2016.
Restrepo, a father of three, was working on the field when he was shot by people who have not been identified yet. This killing marks the 26th in 2020 so far.
On 10 June the FARC party ahd warned United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michele Bachelet about the systematic killings of former guerillas and social leaders.
As a result, the UN urged the government to "deepen measures for the dismantling of criminal organizations to guarantee the safety of former guerrillas, social leaders, and human rights defenders."
