YPG/YPJ fighters launched an operation yesterday evening on the Botana Şerqi Neighbourhood to the south east of Kobane, leaving 22 ISIS gang members killed.
The corpses of 14 of the killed were seized by the YPG fighters.
Two suicide attackers were also killed and a bomb laden vehicle destroyed, while a large amount of weapons and ammunition was seized.
It has been reported that one of the killed was an emir (leader) of the gangs named Abu Hamza, while the killed gang members whose bodies were seized were seen to be mostly Chechen and Azerbaijanis.
While the fight in Kobane has entered its 83rd day, YPG forces seized a large amount of AK47s, one BKS and 2 HArbi-2 machineguns during yesterday’s operation.
A suicide attacker was neutralised in the operation while another one was killed before he could detonate his bomb.
In the morning hours today, the gangs attempted a suicide attack with a bomb laden vehicle in the south east of the town. This vehicle was also destroyed by the YPG/YPJ fighters. While the operation launched on the south eastern side of the town by the YPG/YPJ forces continues, sporadic clashes are also taking place on the eastern and southern fronts. Mortar attacks are also being carried out by the ISIS gangs.
Meanwhile, the coalition forces bombed 3 positions of the gangs last night in the eastern and southern parts of the city.
