30 people including journalists and HDP members detained

Around 30 people have been taken into custody in today’s political genocide operations in the provinces of Istanbul, Tekirdağ, Amed, Ankara and Urfa.

As part of the ongoing political genocide operations of the AKP/Palace regime, police forces have conducted house raids and detained 12 people in Istanbul, 3 in Silvan, 1 in Tekirdağ, 1 in Urfa and at least 9 in Ankara.

ISTANBUL

Turkish police have carried out simultaneous house raids in Istanbul’s Arnavutköy, Bahçelievler, Bağcılar, Beyoğlu, Esenler, Pendik and Sancaktepe districts and detained 12 people early Monday morning.

Reports say that 6 more people are sought in the scope of the same operation, and the detainees have been taken to the anti-terror branch of security directorate on Vatan Street.

TEKİRDAĞ

Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Tekirdağ provincial co-chair Kenan Yıldız was taken into custody in a raid on his flat, and taken to provincial security directorate.

AMED

Three young people have been detained by the police vehicle sitting in the Kaniya Navîn Park in Bağlar neighbourhood of Amed’s Silvan district. Police have taken 8 youths into custody in recent days in the operations they carry out on the streets in the daytime.

JOURNALISTS AND HDP ADMINISTRATORS ALSO DETAINED

On the other hand, DİHABER reporter Deniz Nazım and some HDP administrators have been detained in today’s operations in Turkish capital city Ankara.

Police also detained Hamdullah Bayram of Özgürlükçü Demokrasi newspaper following a house raid in Urfa this morning.
