YPG (People's Defense Units) Press Centre has said in a written statement that the operation launched by YPG/YPJ forces in south and southwest Serêkaniyê was continuing.

According to the statement, ISIS gangs launced an attack against the YPG forces deployed in the villages of Rasim al Hacir and Ebubekîr, which had been liberated the day before, early in the evening yesterday.

The gangs were repulsed as result of intense and fierce clashes during which 21 members of theirs were killed, YPG said, adding that 1 YPG/YPJ fighter has also died in the fighting.

Severe clashes in Jazaa

YPG Press Centre said that another attack by ISIS gangs targeted the village of Qureys to the south of Jazaa last midnight. Clashes that erupted as YPG forces responded to the attack continued till early Sunday morning.

6 gang members were killed and 4 others wounded, and two vehicles belonging to them were blown up, the statement said, adding that 1 YPG fighter who played an important role in the defeat of ISIS attacks has fallen fighting.

YPG/YPJ fighters have carried out an offensive against gangs between the villages of Misterîha and Fîlîstîn in south Jazaa early this morning. At least 5 members of the gangs were killed and a vehicle of theirs was destroyed.
