35 Swiss organisations call to join demo in Bern on Saturday

Swiss institutions and organizations, including political parties and human rights organizations, will protest the occupation attacks and demand the recognition of the autonomous status of North East Syria on Saturday in Bern.

International reactions to the occupation and genocide attacks carried out by the Turkish state in North East Syria continue.

On Saturday, a march and rally will be held in Bern. The rally is promoted by 35 institutions and organizations, including the Socialist Party (SP) and the Greens, as well as UNIA, the country's largest trade union. 

The 35 organizations involved in the preparation of the rally issued a joint statement to call on the Swiss government to "use all diplomatic opportunities to ensure the UN would broke an immediate ceasefire and establish a no-fly zone over northern Syria.

Free trade agreement with Turkey should be frozen, economic sanctions should be imposed on Turkey, export credit guarantees in the business deal for Turkey should be removed.

Arms sale to Turkey should end. 

ISIS detainees in the region should be tried in an international court and sentenced to prison in the countries of their nationality.

In order to contribute to the establishment of lasting peace in Syria, it is important to recognize the democratic, multi-ethnic, secular autonomous administration in North East Syria.

Switzerland should support aid organizations active in Syria, and in particular refer their medical aid to Heyva Sor."

The rally will begin in Schützenmatte in Bern at 1.30 pm.
