Derik governor Muhammet Fatih Safitürk and two police officers on guard had been wounded during yesterday’s action against Safitürk, who later died in a hospital in Antep.

Police officers launched an operation in the district after the action and detained 38 people. 13 of these people gave their statements in the district police headquarters, and the remaning 25 people have been taken to Mardin provincial police headquarters.

On the other hand, local sources claim that on plastic explosives were used in the home made bomb that caused the blast, and the bomb was smuggled into the governorate in a plastic box and placed under Safitürk’s desk.
