The Reina nightclub in Istanbul's Ortaköy area was targeted by an armed attack at the New Year night. The attack killed 39 people and 69 others wounded, of whom 4 are in critical condition.

Turkish officials announced that 21 victims have been identified so far and 16 of these are foreigners.

Efforts continue to capture the assailant who fled the scene after opening fire on the people inside the club.

In the meantime, media ban has been issued on the deadly attack.
