4-day march in Switzerland for Öcalan and national unity

More than a hundred people, including intellectuals, artists, politicians and representatives of institutions, will march together for 4 days in Switzerland to join the Long March which will kick off on Saturday.

Kurds living in Europe and their friends will take to the streets once again to mark the 21st anniversary of the 15 February International Conspiracy against Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan.

A 4-day march will be held in Switzerland with the aim to join the Long March and rally in Strasbourg on 15 February.

The march will go from Geneva to Basel and will be joined by hundred of people from the 4 parts of Kurdistan, including journalists, writers, politicians, artists and institution representatives demanding freedom freedom for Öcalan and status for Kurdistan.

Freedom for Öcalan and national unity

The march has been organised with the slogan 'Let us free our Leadership by providing our national unity".

The march will start on Monday, February 10. Geneva Democratic Kurdish Community Center co-president Salih Sağlam said: "The most important dimension of the long march against the conspiracy this year will be that it will be held under the slogan 'Let's defeat the international conspiracy by ensuring our national unity'. We will march on the basis of both liberating our leadership and ensuring our national unity. Many artists, politicians, intellectuals and institution representatives who took part in the national unity march from Lausanne to Geneva will also take part in this march."

Stating that the international conspiracy against Öcalan is directly connected with the freedom of Kurdistan and the national unity of the Kurdish people, Sağlam added: "Ensuring the freedom of our leader held in captivity in İmralı means to ensure the freedom of the whole Kurdistan and the future of the Kurdish people."

Calling for strong participation in the long march, Sağlam said: "We believe more than ever that we will liberate our leadership. Everyone should support this march on the basis of ensuring our national unity and liberating our leadership."
