40 youths join YGP, 2 laid to rest in Kobanê
Two fighters of the YPG (People's Defence Units) who lost their lives in clashes with ISIS (Islamic State) gangs in Kobanê in West Kurdistan have been laid to rest.
Thousands marched to the Martyr Dicle Cemetery to bid farewell to 2 YPG fighters, Mihemed Casim, code-name Kawa Serêkaniyê, who died in the region of Kopirlik in Kobanê on 7 September, and Mihemed Hisî, who died as a result of a mortar attack in the region of Cib-El-Ferec the same day.
The YPG fighters were laid to rest following speeches held at the ceremony by the Institution for Families of Martyrs, YPG representatives, Minister of Faith Mihemed Dahir and families.
On the other hand, a graduation ceremony also took place on Tuesday for a group of 40 youths who have finished their military training at the Martyr Agirî Academy. Following the ceremony which was also attended by YPJ (Women's Defence Units) Commander Meysa Abdo, youths joined the ranks of YPG and YPJ.
In another development, 25 young women who graduated from the Martyr Jiyan Academy in Girkê Lege city of Rojava have joined YPJ ranks following a ceremony.
