5 detained during protest against Eutelsat in Berlin

Five people were detained by German police on the grounds that they chanted “Bijî YPG-YPJ” during a demonstration in Berlin in protest at the French satellite company Eutelsat's decision against Kurdish televisions.

Kurds and their friends held a demonstration in Berlin, Germany today to protest the French satellite company Eutelsat's decision to suspend the broadcasting of Kurdish televisions.

The demonstration organized by NAV-DEM was also supported by PYD Berlin branch, ATİK and Partizan from the revolutionary movements of Turkey. Demonstrators gave messages of solidarity with the Kurdish media.

Demonstrators also commemorated BÖG (United Freedom Forces) Commander Ulaş Bayraktaroğlu who was recently martyred in the Raqqa operation and martyrs of the month of May.

After the demonstration, Berlin police detained 5 youths on the grounds that they chanted “Bijî YPG-YPJ”.
