5 more villages liberated in the Operation Wrath of Euphrates
Wrath of Euphrates Action Room fighters have liberated 5 more villages from ISIS occupation during the last 24 hours as part of the operation to liberate Raqqa city.
Heavy clashes between Wrath of Euphrates Action Room fighters and ISIS gangs that erupted yesterday evening continued into the morning hours. The villages of Haniyê, Bîr Zahîr, Kerwan, Bîr Zayît and Tuvehina were cleansed of gangs in the wake of the fighting.
27 ISIS members were killed and bodies of 12 were seized during the clashes, according to reports.
Wrath of Euphrates Action Room fighters have advanced up to the Euphrates and encircled 54 villages and dozens of hamlets under ISIS occupation.
During the offensives ongoing in the ninth day of the second stage in the Operation Wrath of Euphrates, an area of 440 square kilometers -involving 45 villages- has been cleared of ISIS groups.
