60 gang members killed in YPG offensive in Kobanê
West Kurdistan's People's Protection Units (YPG) fighters are continuing to resist against Islamic State gangs carrying out a new wave of attacks on Kobanê since 15 September.
According to the reports of ANHA News Agency, YPG fighters carried out an offensive targeting ISIS positions and bases in the village of Bexdikê to the east of Kobanê. YPG have inflicted a heavy blow on ISIS gangs, killing at least 60 members of theirs and destroying three tanks, and damaging one other.
Clashes are continuing in the villages of Bexdikê and Celebiyê to the east of Kobanê.
A number of ISIS members were killed in clashes with YPG fighters in the villages of Dugirman, Boraz and Derbazinê to the west of Kobanê. YPG fighters also destroyed two vehicles carrying antiaircraft weapons.
On the western front, ISIS gangs launched mortar attacks on the İlecax and Derbazin villages and Girê Zagros area.
Local sources have reported that the two villages were also targeted by a bombardment from across the villages of Dugirman and Boraz to the west of the Euphrates River.
In south Kobanê, clashes are getting fiercer in and around the village Qumçî which was also targeted by an intense mortar attack.
Some of the local people living in the villages within the area of escalating attacks, children and women in particular, are fleeing from the region and migrating to the Kobanê centre.
