As many as 13 people from Kurdistan were taken into custody during raids carried out by the police in Marseille, Paris and Draguignan cities of France earlier this week. Police stormed several apartments and the Democratic Kurdish Community Center.
After 4 days of interrogation, 4 of the detainees were released on condition of judicial supervision, while the other 9 appeared before judge last night.
Of the 9 detainees who were accused of “having connections with terrorism and providing finance”, 7 were sent to prison. One other was sentenced to wear electronic bracelet and the other released on condition of judicial supervision.
It grabs attention that the raids and arrests in Marseille and Paris took place after a conversation between dictator Erdogan and French President Macron in early March. Obviously, the action, for which no justification was given, is an intended intimidation attempt. No one has yet been punished for the dastardly murder of the three revolutionaries in Paris, and the perpetrators have yet to be identified.
