ÖHD: 104 people taken into custody under torture in Istanbul

ÖHD said that 104 people were detained under torture in Arnavutköy Imrahor District and announced that some of them were seriously injured.

The Association of Lawyers for Freedom (ÖHD) said that 104 people who opposed the demolition in Imrahor Neighborhood in Arnavutköy District of Istanbul were taken into custody and tortured.

The lawyers said: "104 people were taken into custody by police after being attacked with pepper gas and rubber bullets because they opposed the demolition in Imrahor District. Some of our clients were seriously injured. Our clients were kept in the detention vehicle all day and mistreatment continued. We do not accept that our clients are detained unlawfully and subjected to torture. We are following the legal process."
