Hamburg State Parliament Die Linke Group President Cansu Özdemir said that participation in tomorrow Cologne march is very important to reaffirm that “the key to peace is Öcalan."
Cansu Özdemir, Hamburg State Parliament Die Linke Group President, said: "The march to be held in Cologne tomorrow, 1 February, has great importance. Because we can see a blockage in Turkey. And the key to unlock it is Mr. Abdullah Öcalan. The Turkish state knows this. Germany also knows this. That's why a strong participation will be important."
They want to silence Abdullah Öcalan
Özdemir added: "When we look at Rojava right now, when we look at the revolution there, when we look at the reshaping and construction of society, we understand why there is such an attempt to silence Abdullah Öcalan."
Özdemir continued: "There is an attempt to prevent the spreading of Ocalan’s idea. But German society does not think like its own government. There is a great solidarity. When we look at people all over the world, they see Abdullah Öcalan as a philosopher. They see him as a great thinker."
The CPT is not carrying out its duty
Özdemir said that "the CPT is guilty and not doing its job. We are talking about how serious Mr. Öcalan's health condition is, how severe the isolation is, and a situation where human rights violations are taking place, yet, the CPT remains silent. And this is because there are millions of people looking at what Mr. Abdullah Öcalan has to say. And there are many who are trying to prevent him from speaking. That’s why tomorrow’s march is important."
Pointing out the criminalization policies that the Kurdish community faces in Germany, Özdemir pointed out that Kurdish politicians are tried without proper accusation in Germany. On the other hand, she stated that groups such as DİTİB and National Vision are operating freely and that Germany is also carrying out hypocritical activities in its foreign policy.
Cansu Özdemir, who also drew attention to the arms sales from Germany to the Turkish state, said: "Where are these weapons used? The German state knows very well that they are used, especially in Rojava. We saw it during the Afrin process. They entered Afrin with German panzers. They committed massacres there."
