Tevgera Azadi co-chair: National Unity is the key to succeed

Tevgera Azadi co-chair talked about Turkish attacks against South Kurdistan and Barzani’s weak statement.

Tevgera Azadi co-chair Şilan Şakir has assessed the attacks against South Kurdistan carried out by the Turkish state and statement of Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani.

Speaking to ANHA, Şakir said Barzani didn’t show condemnation of Turkish occupation attempts.

She added that Barzani's allegations against the PKK show that he is in fact cooperating with the occupation.

Şakir also pointed out that Turkish President Erdoğan wants to eliminate Kurds with these policies.

Stressing that Erdoğan and the AKP government see the Kurdish people as enemies and that the Turkish state has been attacking Kurds throughout history, Şakir said: “The Turkish state targeting peoples is a fascist state. The Turkish state aims at destroying the Kurdish people”.

In fact, added Şakir, “the attacks on South Kurdistan aim at emptying the region from Kurds”. She added that “the Kurdish people should be conscious of these plans carried out by the Turkish state”.

To remain silent is to support

Stating that the Turkish state violated international law by crossing the Iraqi border by air and land, Şakir added: “Iraq must react to these attacks as soon as possible. The Iraqi government has so far made several statements about the occupation attempts, but has not taken a clear position against the attackers, nor has attempted to prevent them”.

This shows, Şakir added, “the weakness of the Iraqi government. Silence and passivity actually mean that invasion attacks are supported”.

The Turkish state will attack the PDK tomorrow

Şakir reminded that the Turkish state used the PKK presence in South Kurdistan as an excuse to carry out attacks across the border.

“This reason has no legal basis. - said Şakir - It is a smokescreen that paves the way to other actions. Today, the Turkish state is attacking the PKK, but it will be attacking the PDK tomorrow”.

Alliance with fascism and occupying forces

Şakir also took time to respond to Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister, Nechivan Barzani.

“Civilians are being massacred in the attacks launched by the invading Turkish state. Unfortunately, Barzani did not condemn this attack. This shows that they have allied with fascism and invaders. This alliance represents a great danger to the people of the region”.

Noting that the people of South Kurdistan never accepted the occupation and never surrendered to it, Şakir said: “People have resisted against occupation for years. This resistance continues today. The silence of the politicians on the occupation attacks leaves the people’s resistance alone. But people will not surrender. "

Those who wants to eliminate Kurds, beginning from Turkey, are afraid of the achievements reached by Kurds, she underlined.

“Kurds - she said - should join in a national unity against the occupation attacks. The only solution against these invading forces is national unity”.
