A moderate earthquake hit Halabja and Suleymaniyah in Southern Kurdistan on Wednesday morning.
The 4.9 magnitude earthquake could be felt in Sulaimani and Halabja, as well as the bordering areas between Iran and the region at about 08:53 a.m.
According to the data provided by various observation institutions, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres.
Initial reports say that the earthquake has caused no damages.
Kurdistan Region and Rojhilan (Eastern Kurdistan) was hit with a 7.3 magnitude earthquake on November 12 which killed 483 people and injured 12 thousand.
