The trial court, which ignored the defense made by the artist's lawyer, Fatma Hopikoğlu, adjourned the hearing to 17 October.

Ferhat Tunç, who was forced to leave the country on 4 March 2019, said in a statement on his Twitter account that “there is no legal legitimacy on any judicial decision about me.”

Ferhat Tunç's statement on the decision is as follows: "There is no legal legitimacy of any judicial decision about me. I have no confidence in the existing judicial system which has been under the protection of the government. Such a judiciary cannot be fair.”
