ABDEM delegation at Kobanê border

The European Peace and Democracy Assembly (ABDEM) has sent a delegation to the Kobanê border in solidarity with the resistance against the Islamic State gangs in the Kobanê Canton of West Kurdistan.

The Assembly made the move following a meeting with

on 19 September which ended up in a decision to support the Kobanê resistance.

The delegation includes representatives of Armenian, Assyrian-Syriac immigrants, of those from Turkey, and institutions and organizations for Alevis and Yezidis.

The institutions pointed out that YPG/YPJ fighters and HPG/YJA STAR guerrillas prevented a bigger massacre in Sinjar, adding that a similar resistance is being displayed in Kobanê now.

The 16 person delegation is made up of the representatives of the following institutions and organizations;

-Nor Zartonk Armenian Initiative

-Mesopotamia Democratic Change Party (Assyrian-Syriac),

-Federation of Democratic Worker's Unions, DIDIF

-German Federation of Democratic Peoples, ADHF

-Federation of Êzidi Unions

-Confederation of Oppressed Immigrants in Europe, AVEG-Kon

-German Federation of Workers from Turkey, ATİF

-Democratic Alevi Federation, FEDA
