Action in front of the Russian consulate

Kurds and their friends organised an action in Gothenburg in front of the Russian consulate to protest the Turkish state's invasion of Rojava.

Activists put up banners saying 'We are not terrorists, we are people', 'Sanctions to Turkey', 'Stop Erdogan, Down with Fascism' on the gates of the consulate.

Activists asked to talk with consular officials and were eventually able to brief two consulate officers on the war crimes committed by the Turkish state in Rojava and Northern and Eastern Syria.

The activists stated that the Turkish state used chemical weapons against Kurds, just as Iraqi dictator Sadam Hussein did in Halabja.

Recalling that Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet Erdogan in Sochi today, activists demanded that Russia act to stop Turkey attacking Rojava.
