The threats of the Iraqi Central Government against Shengal were protested in many cities in Europe. Among them Berlin, Hamburg and Bordeaux.

Berlin

Kurds and their friends gathered at Hermanplatz in Berlin to join the demo organised by the Yazidi women's umbrella organization and NAV-YEK. Dest Dan Women's Council also joined the demo.

Hamburg

An action for Shengal was also organized in Hamburg.

A large number of Kurds attended the rally, promoted by the Hamburg DKTM and the Hamburg Democratic Force Union.

Hamburg Democratic Force Union representative Hüseyin Ararat said in his speech: “The Yazidi people want to live on their own lands in Shengal with their own free will and with their own right to sovereignty. Those who said nothing while Shengal was occupied by barbarian ISIS mercenaries in 2014, while women were kidnapped and raped and sold in slave markets, today have no right to say anything about Shengal and the Yazidi people living there. The Yazidi people want to protect themselves and defend themselves with their own strength.”

Saying that an attack against Shengal will be an attack on all Kurdish people, Ararat said that the agreement made by the Iraqi central government and the KDP does not reflect the will of the Yazidi people.

Bordeaux

Young people in Bordeaux protested the dirty deal against the people of Shengal. The activists handed out leaflets on trains, then they gathered at Place de la Victoire and read a statement in French.

A banner with the words "Sengal n'est pas seul” (Shengal is not alone) summarize the message of the young activists.
