The police political operations carried out by the Turkish state against the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) were protested with an action in Cologne on Sunday.
The Socialist youth organization Young Struggle, German Migrant Workers Federation (AGIF) and Voice of Prisoners Platform (TSP) affiliated to AVEG-KON participated in the action held in front of Cologne Deutz Hauptbanhof.
Speaking at the demonstration, activists stated that Kurds and socialists were targeted by state terror based on detentions, bans on traveling, false "secret witness" statements, days before the 14 May elections.
The activists underlined that at least 144 people were detained, and nearly 50 arrests were made in Amed alone.
In the last operation, opposition candidates belonging to the Green Left Party and ESP, as well as journalists from ETHA (Etkin News Agency), Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF) and Socialist Women's Councils (SKM) members were detained.
