Activists in Europe commemorate the Rojava Revolution

The anniversary of the Rojava Revolution was celebrated with events held in Stuttgart and Berlin, Germany.

Stuttgart

A march was held against colonialism, fascism, the patriarchal system, violence against women, ecological destruction and all forms of oppression all over the world.

The mass started after a minute silence at Lautenschlagerstrasse. Slogans like "Bijî berxwedana Rojava", "Jin, jîyan, azadî", "Terrorist Erdogan", "Long live internationalist solidarity" were chanted by activists.

Speaking at the march, activists said that the Rojava Revolution was a hope for all peoples and beliefs. Activists condemned the Turkish state attacks.

Berlin

The march organized by PYD and Navenda Kurdistan Azad in Berlin at Hermannplatz was attended by Kurds, Germans, and socialists. Many institutions also joined the march.

Speaking after a minute silence, Berlin PYD representative Süleyman Hajo Rojava said the revolution is a hope for the oppressed peoples.

The action continued with the reading of statements by Kongra Star, the Berlin Youth Commune and the Latin America Bloc. Activists from the Bloc said: “As socialists and revolutionaries, we will always fight against dictatorship. We got stronger with the Rojava Revolution.”

Die Linke MP Hakan Tas also saluted the Rojava Revolution in the statement he made.

At the end of the march, Berlin police attacked activists and detained 5 people.

Kassel

Kurdistan people gathered in Kassel to celebrate the Rojava revolution.

The celebration, which was organized by TCŞ and Kassel DKTM, started with a minute silence.

After the speeches of the institutions related to the Rojava revolution, the celebration continued with music concerts and halays, with local artists performing.

Dortmund

TCŞ and TEKO-JIN activists celebrated the 8th anniversary of the Rojava revolution with an event in Dortmund.

The celebration was attended by about 70 young people and started with a tribute to the martyrs of the Kurdistan revolution in the person of Rojava martyrs. The event continued with the concert given by the artist Bengi Agirî and a video.

Marseille

From Germany to France, the anniversary of the Rojava revolution was celebrated with an event held in Marseille.

After the stand opened by Antifa, the Rojava revolution was celebrated with a march.

Marignan

A march was held in Marignan to celebrate the anniversary of the Rojava revolution.

The march, which started from Marignane Square, ended with a meeting held in front of the municipality.

Villier Le Bel

The anniversary of the Rojava revolution was also celebrated in the suburb of Paris, Villier le Bel.

Young activists from the TCŞ and TEKO-JIN greeted the Rojava revolution with a march they organized.

Limassol

And from France to Cyprus, where the Kurdish Commune organised a demonstration in Limassol, at the foot of the Torodos Mountains.

Speaking at the celebration, PYD Cyprus representative Yasin Derguş stated that the Rojava revolution created hope for the peoples of the world, especially women and created a new alternative to the world crisis.

Kurdish politician Lezgin Serhat, on the other hand, stated that the dictatorial systems in the Middle East saw the Rojava revolution as a threat against them and made plans to attack it at every opportunity.

After the speeches, the artists and children's choir that carried out their work within the Kurdish People's Assembly took the stage. The celebration ended with halays and folk songs.

Lavrio

From Cyprus to Greece, the 8th anniversary of the 19 July Rojava Revolution was celebrated with a mass event organised by the Kurdistan Cultural Center and PYD Greece representative office in Lavrio.

The celebration, attended by hundreds of Kurds as well as representatives of the left, socialist and anarchist organizations, started with a tribute to the memory of the martyrs. In the speeches made on behalf of the Organizing Committee, it was emphasized that the struggle should be increased in order to protect the gains achieved by the Revolution.

PYD Representative in Greece Ibrahim Müslüm emphasized that the Rojava revolution created hope like a candle in the darkness of the Middle East. Müslüm emphasized that the revolution, which was built with the common resistance of the peoples, will be carried to victory despite all the attacks thanks to popular struggle.
