The United Struggle organised a demonstration to commemorate the victims of the 1915 Armenian Genocide on its 106th anniversary. Activists marched with the sloga "We have not forgotten the Genocide; we will not forget it".
Many people joined the action held in front of the Turkish Consulate in Zurich.
The representative of the United Revolutionary Movement of Peoples (HBDH) read a joint statement in the action, which started with a moment of silence in memory of the martyrs in the person of HPG Command Council member Sinan Dersim (Dalokay Şanlı), who fell a martyr in Medya Defense Areas.
The statement said: “The Turkish state continues its racist massacre policies today. In 1915 it was the genocide of the Armenian people, today the Turkish state attacks with its AKP / MHP fascist hand the peoples of Kurdistan and Turkey.”
The European Syriac Union (ESU) representative reminded that Mor Yakop Monastery Priest Aho (Sefer Bileçen) was sentenced to 2 years and one month imprisonment on charges of "aiding a terrorist organization" and said that it is a continuation of the Sayfo Genocide.
The action continued with the reading of statements in German.
