Activists protest Turkish use of chemical weapons in front of UK Prime Ministry building

Kurds and their friends blocked the street in front of the Prime Ministry building to protest the silence of Britain against the use of chemical weapons by the Turkish state.

The Kurdish People's Assembly organized a demonstration in front of the British Parliament to protest the Turkish state's use of chemical weapons in Kurdistan. Slogans in English and Kurdish were chanted by the activists who attended the demonstration en masse, carrying banners protesting the Turkish state's use of chemical gas and wearing chemical protective overalls and gas masks.

The Kurdish Women's Movement criticized the silence of the British state and government about the Turkish state's use of chemicals, which is considered a crime against humanity and a war crime. Emphasizing that the Turkish state used chemicals in Kurdistan in defiance of international law, the statement said: “The fact that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) has not taken action against the war crimes carried out by the Turkish state so far means complicity in this crime. The fact that the UK has not made a serious statement against chemical weapons so far also makes it a partner in this crime. We call on everyone to fulfil their duty."

The crowd closed the street to traffic in front of the Prime Ministry building. Meanwhile, the group, wearing chemical protection overalls, continued their protests by laying their bodies on the street at the entrance of the Prime Ministry building. After the action held in front of the Prime Ministry building, the demo ended in Trafalgar Square.
